Request Plugin: ABORT operations in ESC

Well, great things happened here in did.
I don't know if it is possible but... can it be to add Abort for all operations when pressing ESC key??? As like in Rhino
I am not a programmer... just a designer with some needs so if anybody out there can do that.. I will name my pet after him.

I would like the same thing, but I have a small work around.
In the preferences I set a keyboard shortcut as "Space Bar = Select"
So what ever command I am in I just hit the Space Bar and I am back to Select mode,(which seems the most used command.. -
Just this morning I was thinking it would be nice to be able to abort a plugin with the Esc key. I was experimenting with the Subd/Smooth and wanted to stop the operation. Selecting another tool doesn't help because tool selection won't be made until the the current operation completes.
Assigning the Space Bar to the select tool is a good idea as long as you're working in decimal values for dimensions. It would be a pain if you are working in Fractional units though.

Third for the abort command key-stroke. The sandbox tools are an excellent example of processes seizing a pc and the only way to regain control of the machine is a crash. A abort command key sequence/stroke is necessary.
