FormZ is such a piece of 1990's foolishness. I have difficulty believing the company that produces it is capable of any innovation...not that we have been seeing much progress in that area anyway.

I have to agree with Lewis, FormZ is rubbish and is really not on the same playing field with many of the current modelers. It is old technology and just keeps getting a decorative facelift instead of a complete overhaul to bring it into the 21st century. I find it funny how so many companies are following in Sketchup's footsteps, even going so far as to use the term push/pull. It is a realt testament to the power and ease of use of Sketchup.
As far as the news from Coen, I have to agree we need to give him some time and space. If he did jump the gun on a announcement only to get his twins tightened into a vice by Google then that is understandable why we have not heard anything. He is only try to keep all of up to date on any new news, but we need to understand that he is under a NDA and he can not break that just to fill us in on what he may know. Time will tell what the news is and nobody is really going anywhere until then. So keep modeling and keep checking in...but bitching is getting us nowhere.

True! If Google would implement high poly support (and a couple of other tidbits), then SU would take the 3D world by storm, I think.

When I hit the Submit button you will know why it took so long. That said, it's not an excuse.
Coen,
I do not understand this...can you expand on this at all? Maybe it the lack of sleep for all of us but I am a bit lost now.

Wait and see, we can be surprised...is not impossible.

Scott, I think (assume) Coen means when he finally publishes his news, you will see why it has taken so long.
Coen, as far as I am concerned, no need for you to feel ashamed. You da man!
-
I agree...no need to apologize or feel bad I am sure if you could you would be spilling the beans.

Man Coen - only 60 pages? Sheez.
Wow.

Well it sounds like a whole lot of silence from Google about any new developments...at least for the time being.

That covers the ground from everything to nothing, huh?
Coen,
Great job! Quite pleased to have such a wonderful read about our "little" group.
Thanks, and my best, Tom. -
Anyone notice this response from Aidan "The thing about being a part of Google is that it's forced me to think very differently about SketchUp's place in the world. With a free version available, and with Google's reach, we have an opportunity to do a lot more for the design profession than just be a useful 3D modeling tool."
-
Pete,
Saw it and I am still pondering what the hell that is supposed to mean. I would love to think it is for the good but unless you are a GE user I have a feeling it is not a direction we as modelers will like. Of course we will have to wait and see but my excitement about future releases is nothing like it used to be.

@Solo,
I guess he refers to Sketchup as a tool for Google Earth. So nothing new here
I have the feeling SU7 will concentrate on features that makes SU better at populating G's Earth. -
May be they( ) will divide products like AD made with 3dsmax, revit...
Creation of several commercial products...and lite edition... -
Well done on the newsletter, Coen. No wonder you get no sleep.
@ Kwisten and Solo: yup, what Aidan Chopra said reeks of GE. Still, I cannot fathom Google isn't aware of both SU's limitations and potential.

Top marks for the newsletter. Really informative and helpful. I've only skimmed it so far but I will probably go back and read every page. Very impressive.
