RP Tools: What is it? Helpful?
-
Can someone tell me in a nutshell what this is all about? Who is using it? Does it add a lot of functinality to SketchUp. Who is it intended for?
-
Basically theyve got a core rendering product and thne a few things built aorund that. The renderer is called Irender, there is also an Irender plus and Irender nXt, which is currently a beta version of the next Irender.
lots more info: http://wiki.renderplus.com/index.php?title=Main_Page
Al hart works for them, i tihnk, so he should be able to tell you lots about it.
-
Do you use it remus?
What do you think? -
I have tried irender nXt, but i didnt really get in to it to be honest. Im sure you can do some really good stuff (as al has shown) but i kind of got bored of playign with it.
Really cool features: auto light setup, this is wicked, you jsut set the sort of light you want and its there! brill stuff. its also very quick which can be a real bonus at times.
-
Oh thanks remus. But I wasn't actually referring to those. I'm an NPR kind of person so I don't really look too much a photo real renederers.
I meant this thingy here: http://wiki.renderplus.com/index.php?title=RpToolsEvery time I see a new SketchUp Toy I want it. But it is getting to the point where I really need to think about what I squirrel away because I need to keep in my head what everything does, so I need to only get those things that will be a bonus either for me, or one that I can pass on to others when asked at my classes. For instance, I neve have occasion to use ARCH GIS but I do have a lot of Landscape Architects that have use for it so I need to know a little something to be able to point them in the right direction.
I was hoping to find a user of these to tell me where it has a made difference for these RP tools. -
Woops, i was obviously a bit hasty there. sorry.

Hey Susan - maybe you can attend the "Best of Ruby" session at 3D Basecamp and keep me honest while I present.
-
Keep you honest?
Foregone conclusion.
Am I doing something bad now? Can you explain? I don't get it?? -
Well, you try to keep abreast of all the Ruby scripts, and I'm presenting several of the Ruby scripts - what they are, how they work, what you can do with them, etc.
What I meant was that if I say something incorrect, will you be there to "keep me honest" with any necessary courteous corrections?
-
I fully intend to be at your session and I'm really looking forward to it so I can learn as much as possible. I can't imagine anything that I would know about rubies that you don't but if it had to do with an ancialliary issue, I think it would be discourteous for me to say anything at all in front of an audience while you are the speaker.

You are too kind.
