Guide lines

Hello. I'm getting rather frustrated with the black lines that keep showing up. I know that you can select them and "hide" them, but this can get frustrating, especially with large components. Is there a way to turn them off permanently? Thanks in advance.

Hmmm, this sounds more like bad geometry than guide lines gone astray. You should really try not to let this sort of geometry get there in the first place, but if you cant get rid of it at all you can hide geometry quickly with the eraser tool by holding down shift.
p.s. any chance of a pic of the problem?

you could also unsoften evrything in the component switch to wire frame and select all
Ctrl + A and hide then soften evrything back -
