Opening a DAMAGED file?
-
hello everybody!
I hava a big problem with a file that obviously has been damaged when my hard disk drive broke down... when i try to open it, i get an error message telling me that this was no sketchup file...Is there any possibility to open a damaged file, to be able to work with the parts of the drawing that were not damaged?
do you know any possibility that could help me not having to draw the whole thing from the beginning?
hope you can help me!

I dont think its possible o do it yourself, but there have bene cases where damaged files have been recovered by the SU team. Id recomend PMing craigd of these forums with your request.
I wouldnt get your hopes up too much tohugh, if it was damaged because of HD failure theres a good chance that a crucial part of the file is just gone.
Good luck.

Hi blumentopferde -
You can look for a backup file if you have auto save backup preference on. Search your system for .skb files, and look for one with the same name as the .skp file.
If you do not have a backup file on your system, PM me and I'll see if we can help.
Good luck, and let me know.
Cheers,
