STYLE LINES DON'T PRINT
-
Hello, I don't think I really qualify for the newbie forum, but my question is pretty basic.
I have been using SU for a long time, and really never had the 'need' to use styles until now, so I am puzzled. When I apply the styles to my 2d view (any style), only a few lines print. If I export it as a pdf, the lines don't show as they are on the screen, but rather, they look like regular straight lines.....
I have searched the forums, but can't find the answer, other that some people say this happens. My question is, does anybody know a workaround? or are these styles good only for online/screen presentations? Any ideas? Thanks in advance!!!

I don't know if this is the right solution for you, but have you already tried to give out your model in a higher (I mean max it out until SU crashes about 8000px)resolution then required? This works for me. about 8000px)resolution then required? This works for me.I think you already have adjusted the "level of detail" in the style window->edit tab->edge settings?! But this is never a real improvement imho. But maybe there's a more professional solution????

Hi Marne, Thank you for the hints.
I had tried the 'level of detail' change and like you said, didn't make a noticeable difference. So, even upping the resolution didn't help much BUT, I noticed that if I print with the 'sheet layout' as portrait, it prints. Once I change it to 'landscape' it goes back to not printing. It is truly maddening. (I found this out by mistake!)Anyway, thanks again. I will continue flirting with the resolution and walking the fine line between a working computer and complete chaos!

Vasthi, See Ross' introduction to styles and what problems they can cause because of their being pixel based graphics rather than vector based.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. That explanation makes perfect sense and coincides with my experience. I ended up taking a screenshot of the images. Now that I know it seems to be the 'only' way to accomplish this I feel a bit better.
