the copy option did not work, the exploding worked, then with some tweaks I got my shape.

Hi,

I'm a newbie to Sketchup.

I believe I can present my ideas by digitizing them cheaper and quicker, so that the customer can get a better idea about the sample than a 2d sketch.

I'm interested in making full lathe models from my 2d sketches.

I started centering (on grid) all the drawings that I scanned.

Next I imported some into Sketchup.to be save I made my sketch a component...

Then according to some of the tutorials I should be able to select the edge of the circle, select the follow me tool and then hover over my design, then CLICK, and it should be done...

However, the follow me tool, does not recognize my design (even though I traced it and it shows a full surface)...

Can somebody give me a tip, how I can undo the component function or how I can get my lathe modeling to work.
