RE: Render this: Neon cube
i didn't really want to be the one to follow pete, especially with the same render engine but oh well.
here is my crack with thea, i would have let it run for a bit longer but it took 2 hours to get to this point n i need to go to sleep
oh and i have absolutely no clue what happened to that 1 panel that isn't lit, the materials are all the same....it's odd, i'm guessing i got some bad wiring and those lights need fixing.

RE: Render this: Neon cube
oh wow you took a very different approach to me pete, i envisioned this light as being a floor lamp not a desk lamp, although i love your renders. mine is currently rendering away so i should post mine later.

RE: The A show (post your Thea images)
i've been trying to get a good skin material, havent quite got it yet but here is a render of a girl i did quickly in thea, well not quickly...i let it run over night so it ran for 10 hours (about 500 passes on my mbp)
solo, or anyone else who uses thea, have you been able to create a realistic skin material. if so would you be able to post it? thanks

RE: Cars rendered with thea
i'm working on a showcase floor just like at car shows to mount the cars on, i'm not really a fan of the whole street scene presentation.

RE: Cars rendered with thea

RE: Cars rendered with thea
those are very nice renders, what material are you using for the car paint? it looks just a bit too reflective for me.
anyway here is another car i have been working on, i love thea so much
i am having trouble with the rear lights though, as you can see there appear to be 3 different colours when the first 2 are both the same red glass material and the third is an orange glass material, not too sure what is causing this but i am trying to find a fix .

RE: Cars rendered with thea
i uploaded the original watermarked render as well if that helps at all, and don't get me wrong! i will definitely be buying thea, it is one of the easiest (behind podium) and best looking render engines i have used.
