Doesn't matter that this might have been an old topic from the old forum, post dated. But the link is incomplete, so I or the rest of this community (late comers) can't find out what one of our members have been recognised for (see the "... antasy.cfm" which is outside the link code).

Just a little story about this. I was totally surprised when someone on the forum (I can't remember who) sent me an email about the little blurb. I wasn't actively using SCF at the time and would have missed the item as I'm not a member of AIA and don't know anyone who is. I was, as you can imagine, pleased to have the shout out until AIA later published these comments from readers.

These left me feeling quite... how shall I put it... small, silly and put down. The ironic thing is I was in effect an innocent bystander. No one from AIA ever contacted me to ask if they could use the picture, and they certainly didn't mention that when publishing the criticisms.

My take away. Beware of fame... even the 15 minute kind. ๐Ÿ˜„

                Fred

Thanks Mateo. I hope someday to be able to produce work that approaches the professional quality of the work that you and others have been sharing. Fred

                      Mr Bartels,

Please don't let those comments bother you. We architects need to think out of the box, not to be always bogged down by build-ability, the finer details. Fantasy is one good starting point; the concepts, ideas will eventually crystallise, be refined down the road.

Of course its bad that they didn't inform you about using your images. Anyway glad to see your name and work there.
