3d warehouse model.. render in KT
-
hi guys...
really nice to be here in this great place... i was lurking the old SU forum.. (or whatever that was left of it... for old times sake ) and came across this really awesome model http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=9cc583c0f5ab5446817a5669f354365d&prevstart=24 created by Dandis... saw a nice cheetah render http://forum.sketchup.com/showthread.php?p=558945#post558945, got inspired and ran it thru KT...
a 3 mins 21 sec render.. no post pro.. -
Hi, I also saw that render. This is a really impressive one, too. Thanks!
-
actually... kudos goes to dandis.. whats really impressive is the texturing that has been gone into this model... its like... half the work has already been done... i just imported the models in to KT and she did the rest!

Yes, Francois, by "you" and your render there - as he posted a link to that in the old forums.

yes yes... by u francois.. -
I saw that model also in the GSU forum and
agree that it was well done.I noticed also that the render was produced
using Cheetah 4.2. I d/l this program and
checked it out (Mac only).I was pleasantly surprised to see that it
supports the 3D Connexion devices. I think
this could make a huge difference to me in
getting to grips with a rendered as I'm so
used to free orbiting ..... maybe it does
not make much sense ..... but thats the way
of things ...... every program has to have a
free orbiting function these days. I think
its an after effect of SketchUpMike

Render looks great jacob.
Looking at the guys other work who created the model, I must say I am pretty impressed. He has a very good understanding of using textures in SU.

jj,
don't know how I missed your post Monday (finding sometime "view new posts" doesn't get them all...?) my bad. Yes, I have...rediscovered the link on my desktop clutter a couple of weeks ago (probably got it from you on that other forum...?) and thanks for reminding me! I yesterday started playing around with an aerial photomatch that will be quick turnaround when the building gets designed and maybe the underpainting idea might be perfect!
Best, Tom.
