      here is an interesting video about a newly developed camera lens from adobe. the lens looks like a bugs eye and can capture a digital image where the depth of each pixel is known. It's kind of cool and for architectural photography I think could be super. You can take one picture and with adobe software change the camera focus to anywhere in the image. I think its like an in camera epix file format where in addition to the rgb value each pixel also knows where in space it is and whether it is in the camera focus or not.
