@ntxdave Thatβs a good effort. Not sure what you mean by smaller gif. At times I do zoom in so you can better see what Iβm selecting or clicking on. Posting a pic. Everything the same as the last gif except I rotated the twisted upright before I did all the copy/array work. Totally different look.

@tuna1957 what I am saying is that the dimensions of thr gif are large enough that on both my iPad and laptop I cannot see the full gif. So sometimes there is critical information that is off the screen. I do not think this is your fault though. Perhaps there are some settings I need to adjust on both devices. I like your videos though and thank you for providing them.

@ntxdave I suspect you are misunderstanding gifs and their limitations. They are a snapshot of part of the screen, not the full screen. There is a file size limit for adding gifs that is quite restrictive and every pixel that moves on the screen increases the file size. So to make a usable gif we must set a Frame of a certain pixel size then work within that, and try not to move the camera too much, that can make you think you are missing something but most of the time all the relevant action is captured. The model may get cut off but generally not the cursor or relevant tools etc. We do our best to squeeze everything into the capture window. Countless times I have had to rerecord a gif because the context menu option is just off screen, and it can be a real fine line, you may have two context menu uses and one goes too high and the other too low.
If your ipad and laptop are indeed not showing the full gif that would suggest you have the screen resolution set incorrectly, but I doubt it. -
@Box I understand what you are saying and appreciate your response. My primary purpose for all of this is to improve my modeling skills. I think one thing I see in @tuna1957 gif is that he is not using 2025. As an example when you select the flip tool in 2025, you do not get the additional drop down list. In stead you see a red plane, a green plane and a blue plane. Yup the click on the appropriate plane. Not a bid issue but learning about some of the changes are also part of my endeavor.
There is no way I can adequately express the feedback you guys are giving me. Yes, there are times when I feel kind of stupid but that is part of the learning process (especially at my age). In the past the work I did was car wash equipment layouts. I had a ton of components and then it was a very simple process to do the 3D layouts for new washes. That company went out of business about 2 years ago. I also had some issues that kept me away from SketchUp for several months. Now I am trying to get back into things as a hobbyist (I know this is a long rant) and, as I said, I want to learn/practice how to model more things.

@ntxdave OK, A lot of things to improve but here is my next mode. I plan on expanding this to include a glass object inside of the cage.

Here are the types of models I eventually want to be able to create:
I really like these examples and am struggling a little trying to draw something like them. If I draw the pieces outlining the glass interior and rotate them so I can get them to overlap, how to I manage the size of the glass interior?

@ntxdave OK, certainly not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but here is some progress.
Still need some more practice but I am moving in the right direction (I think).

@ntxdave Practice and experiment. Thatβs how you get there. To answer questions you asked over in my thread. You can manipulate geometry with various tools like FredoScale and VertexTools. Box has numerous posts in his tutorial thread showing how to use the various tools in FredoScale. Also posting an image,of one of my models. Exploded the parts and gave a brief description of what I did.

@tuna1957 Thank you. I thank you for the reference to the FredoScale tool and its ability to twist. It helped me begin to visualize some things like you have been doing. I just need to practice/experiment more.
