It's a beginning

Found some good images of a bonnet-top highboy from the Townsend-Goddard School in Newport, Rhode Island. The piece has some nice carving and nice brasses. The shell in the model isn't exact, but close. I still have to finish the ball-and-claw feet and cabriole legs (the rear legs have a slipper foot), then make my way up to the bonnet. Stay tuned.
Enjoy.

Nice scallop!

Very nice, sir.

Really nice! If my memory is correct there are some nice examples of that high boy at the MFA in Boston. Maybe time for a road trip. If you go let me know, would love to buy you a beer or 2.

Damn nice beginning!

Not sure when I'll make it to Boston, so keep the beer on ice, jtri.
Thanks to all for the good words.
Best,
dh
