My latest work in progress: A server in the Adam style, made in England sometime in the late 1700s. I've finished the easy stuff, based on images on the 1stdibs.com web site. Now I have to complete the joinery and use images of the original to project textures on the model. The piece is veneered in tiger maple and satinwood, and it's dripping with medallions and garlands and urns, oh my.

Thanks, tuna. As I feared, the texturing is a challenge. I don't have good images of some of the inlays, so I'm going to have to find a plan B.

OK, here's the server with all the inlay and tiger-maple texture. For the medallion on the shelf, I had to skew an image of it in Photoshop to make it round (or nearly so). The rest of the pieces in the shelf inlay are cobbled together from other images. And I'm not entirely happy with the tiger-maple texture, but I haven't been able to find anything better.

Fantastic model! For the drawer face field (looks to be orange colored) is that to be satinwood?

Thanks. The drawer fronts, like most of the piece, are veneered with tiger maple. The satinwood shows as a brownish band around the edge of the drawer fronts, the side pieces, and the back.
