I have been spending too much time in my shop looking for fasteners, small parts or going to the local Home Depot only to find out they do not have what I am looking for, then finding them in my shop. So my solution was to buy some plastic storage cases and put them in a rack. Harbor Freight part number 61881/94458 worked well for me. On sale they a $4 ea. I made 2 racks and they are mostly filled up, Boy do I have a ton of various fasteners and small parts! A few of the trays are heavy after I loaded them up and the system works well. All I did was screw the runners to the trays. Don't forget plenty of wax on the runners.

πŸ‘ nice idea - is there probably a photo of a finished rack?

Nice. I could use one (or two) of these myself.

I thought about cleaning my shop a bit for a picture, but that thought somehow did not get put into action.
If you need to make this mobile you could put a handle on top and a door or stops on the front so the trays do not slide out.
The plastic storage trays are of low quality and and the tops do not secure as well as you might like, if this is something to go to a job site consider better trays

That's nice. I like the idea of just pulling out the whole thing to have a look and to place by your work. I have various drawer and the tiny single drawer setups. Never quite happy with them and usually take the drawers all the way out anyway to look inside.
