I'll have to wait on trying it since I'm on a Mac and their MacOS version isn't available yet.

I'd be curious to hear how you find it in use. We have been considering a move away from SU (due to the continually unaddressed workflow issues between SU and LO), and BricsCad / BIM with along with Shape for conceptual modelling seems a compelling offering โ€” depending on how well Shape replaces SU.

So far so good but I've only played with it a bit as I have to get some others things finished. Seems to handle DWG files with ease or so with the ones I've tried. The UI is new to me so that will take a bit to sort. I've used SU since r2 so it will take a me a bit to not try to use it like SU.

Activation issues mean I cannot get past installation but it sounds good so far.... OK, got that sorted eventually. It looks like a cross between Floorplan 3d/Envisioneer etc and Sketchup. No idea how to alter the view yet but it is interesting right now.

Interesting program, installed and running, but will need to watch some tuts to get my head around it.
Mind you it is more expensive than SU.

Having a problem installing myself, as I had tried a trial version of BrisCAD, the AutoCAD alternative.
Bricsys were quick to respond, but don't have a solution yet.
                      BricsCAD Shape Basic Tutorials

Update: Bricsys support sent through a license unlock code, as I was unable to access the internet through our corporate security system. The problem was I had previously trialled BrisCAD.
Works OK after a quick trial, interface an interesting mix of AutoCAD, Revit & SketchUP.
Saves to DWG file format, so works nicely with AutoCAD & SketchUP. Corner joints need tidying up in SketchUP, as it treats each wall elevation as a group.
Could be a good sketch programme to go with Bricsys' proposed BIM application, which also uses the DWG file format.

                      Regards,

It's currently free! The AutoCAD alternative Bricsys BricsCAD costs money.

Sorry, right you are JGA, it's not immediately clear when distracted what should be downloaded. The main cad download is a bit too prominent on the page and you actually have to read a bit to realise the Shape download is elsewhere. I'll give that a try too.
