Here is one for today. I built the TV based on a version from the trailer of 'Stranger things 2' ( Go to 1:05 😞

However the original idea I decided not to go with and instead made this GIF. The model is all new but the screen I took from Giphy. It's a six frame repeating animation created in Photoshop. I used Round Corner extensively, way more than I needed to for the final image, but had no idea if I was going to do zoomed in shots, Thanks @Fredo6!

I used Thea to create the sheen on the outer casing. I used basic plastic blue with a simple light setup. I then cut out those panels in Photoshop and used 'Hue & Saturation' > Colourise > Changed to the colour below. Thats also how I make most materials, it means you don't have to try hit and miss so much in the engine and can do it much quicker post-pro.

Very nice! I know these monitors well. Used them when I worked professional film and TV. Then we switched to the smaller and lighter Sony's.

        Many moons ago.

Here is an old model from 2019. The majority of the parts were converted to 3ds form the LDraw library and I made the missing ones. Originally done as a University project I just re-drew it this afternoon.

Looks like a frame from a MSPhysics explosion in a not so far future (2019) with a nice SketchUp rendering.

I am making an animation for an event that I work at every month in Gothenburg at the Concert House. I am on route to Amsterdam for work but the flights are so expensive where I live (£350+) I took a four hour bus to Copenhagen and saved myself about £200!.

I made this, the first frame of the animation this morning. I took some photos from streetview as well as some from Google so its reasonably accurate but didn't need to go into too much detail.

I used the same process as usual but took some extra shading for the interior shadows.

Side note, its £9.41 for a beer in the airport, bloody Danes! 😮 😲

                    Hi Liam.
                    Great image.
I see that you work in Gothenburg. Thats just an hour north of Halmstad where I live.
You didn't happen to attend the Arch Viz Days at Lindholmen (Gothenburg) last week? It was a great event.

No I saw it but could not make it. Well I 'live' in Gothenburg but no luck with work, still freelancing for old client's in London. Flying to Amsterdam now actually to try and drum up some more clients...

I went through Halmstad on the bus this morning on the way to Copenhagen (airport)! You must let me know next time you are in town and we can grab a beer!

Technically cheating with this one as I used a cay render and it's not a raw illustration. This is the base for a VR experience I am working on for the same Concert House. Don't have blueprints yet so this is what I worked out from photos and Google Street View (they have an interior walk-around.

Here is another illustration that will be an interactive 'map' for an app I am making. Again, slightly cheating as I used a clay render as the base before painting over the top in Photoshop. I had hoped to paint the whole thing but the tight time scale I had meant it would have taken too long to shade in all of the floor and wall panels nice enough.

Users will 'hopefully' navigate this map and when they select a room then can then view it in VR either in 3D or as a photo taken with A 360 camera.

The model I created above was eyeballed from images on Google Maps, however I was able to acquire the blueprints to the building so I went back to make it accurately so it will match up with the photos. I was quite close on some of the larger areas but you can see in others I was way off haha!

The image of the server farm just did not work for the magazine cover so I will use it for one of the features inside, instead I used an image of some upright servers. Lot's of Photoshop work, the glass was created using the standard brown gradient in Photoshop, inverted and then set to overlay. It gives a nice 'reflection' effect.

All of the lights in both illustrations are just white objects with outer glow applied in Photoshop.

Space X Mars shuttle braking into Mars parking orbit.

Powered by a Linear Fusion Gasdynamic Mirror Engine it's able to complete a 170 day round trip between Earth and Mars on a standard Brachistochrone trajectory (accelerating to 50% distance then flipping around and decelerating for the remaining 50%).

This specific ship has been contracted by the Chinese government to transport workers for the Mars Elevator construction programme. It will be met in Mars orbit by a fleet of small shuttles to re-supply and perform basic maintenance before the trip back to Earth.
