FitParts will generate cut list plans directly into your Sketchup (leaving your model intact of course).
When the Extensions / FitParts / MakeCutlist option is chosen from the Sketchup menu, the Fitparts will calculate how many panels (sheet goods) you need to produce the selected Sketchup components. Then it will generate one new Sketchup layer per each panel and show you the cutting lines in guillotine style (cutting all the way through panel). Prior to cutting you will be offered to choose the panel(s) size and the kerf size.

At the end of that process FitParts will present cut lines, dimensions and the part numbers on each panel layer.
Interesting feature: it doesn't matter how thick your material is, FitParts will deduce the largest part dimensions so if you make a side of your e.g. kitchen element a few millimeters thicker or thinner - that would not affect FitParts at all.

On the other hand, the extension will calculate the thickness of your material and present it for every part. The thickness will be presented both in Cutting dialog as well as in final report screen. Designer can check the thickness in these two dialog screens and correct the Sketchup model if necessary.
Additionally user have the separate validation menu option that will give him a list of notes about each cutting part. That way user can validate the design prior to cutting and make necessary corrections if needed.
Edge banding: in Pro version user can specify band tape thickness and FitParts will correct the dimensions of parts accordingly. This is quite useful feature because one can specify type of edge banding differently for every selected component/group. Fitparts supports up to 4 banding tapes used simultaneously and separately chosen for every edge and every part. For making all parts the same banding, there is option to set the same banding for all parts at once, hence speeding the banding specification when there are lot of parts:

Grain alignment: every part can be rotated. If left without rotation, the longer side of a part is aligned with longer side of panel. If rotated is activated for a part, that part is rotated 90 degrees
Export menu option that will generate CSV format files. The programs like CutListPlus, Kingsoft (WPS) spreadsheet, MS Excel, and others would readily accept that format.

Versions: Trial version and Pro version.

Operating system: MS Windows, tested on Windows 10.

Trial version seems to work quite well, if a bit clunky and inconsistent.
I was getting the 'serious errors in selection' warning for no apparent reason, and the 'validate selection' option is for the paid version only.
I found I couldn't change the type size of the dimensions which meant at certain zooms the part number obscured the measurement. The layout of the measurements on the parts is not nice either.
No option to export the report that I could see, though cut and paste to Xcel worked ok.
I liked the options to use a custom board size and set the kerf.
The fitpart layers are all on top of each other so you have to first group the meas and parts, and then move them so as to see the full job.

So with all that EUR 55 (Au$80, US$60) is way too much I think, compared to other paid extensions.
With some improvement and a price of about US$20, I might reconsider.

          Buz,
From pictures you presented - you have been using high precision with no need (all zeros). FitParts will always obey your choice for Sketchup units and precision in the final result. So: before activating FitParts, please adjust the presentation you like for the outcome (Window / ModelInfo / Units / Precision).

              Baz,
Thanks so much for the thorough review. You have the old version: the new one has been available for download that would solve some of your problems.

The text on FitParts### layers is grouped under the name "text". If there is the problem with inadequate text size, select the text group, explode it, and then change the size at will of all or any part of it.

No need to move anything from your Sketchup model before using FitParts. If you mean moving the non-grouped entities like line or a curve in order not to interfere with FitParts, I should recommend grouping them all and not select them or hide them, whatever, before activating FitParts.

Happy Anniversary to Fitparts and my users!
The new version of Fitparts (3.00) now supports up to 4 banding tapes: every edge of every part can be banded differently!
The grain is followed by rotating every part at will. If left with no rotation a part's length is aligned with panel's length. If rotated, the part is forced to rotate 90 degrees. User decides about rotation of a part before cutting operation is initiated.
