Pieces I might actually build someday
-
I modeled these chairs today. I had built a much cruder version many years ago. On these, the slab sides consist of five layers of plywood, 3/4 in. pieces on the outside, 1/2 in. pieces in the core. I used a rosewood texture in the model, but I'd gladly substitute cherry or walnut.
And, in one of my more obsessive-compulsive acts, I modeled separate plywood layers, with lines to denote the plies. Lots of work that barely shows.
Enjoy.

Nice David! I can't tell from the image, do the backs have any leanback (aka "slouch")? If so, cool. If not, you might consider putting some in, as chairs with perfectly erect backs aren't very comfortable!

Thanks, slbaumgartner. Yes, the back is slanted at about 7 degrees. It butts against a vertical panel at the top. Everything is housed in dadoes in the side slabs. I removed the cushions to give you a better look.
Best,
