Car paint in KerkyThea
-
I see that lots of people use the built-in templates of the twilight render but making and adjusting your own material is always enjoyable. here is a pair of images that helps one to create a desired car paint.
The main idea is that the car paint has 2 different reflection layer over each other that obey the "Fresnel" law. The first one needs a higher IOR (index of reflection) number and the other one needs a higher glossiness. That is all.

Layer tweaks.

I think it's great that you are posting this information. I bought your book a while back, and have delved into it on and off. I have very little hope that I will be able to accomplish anything worthwhile as far as rendering any of my models, but that's not due to any shortcoming of your wonderful efforts. Strictly my own shortcomings.
But hey, I keep trying.
Thanks again for passing along all this information. -
Hellnback, thanks for purchase and comments. preparing and producing good-looking renders takes some while and experience. Kt is really powerful and almost easy to master and also delivers a good knowledge and understanding of rendering, lighting and material properties and setting that might be useful even in other render engines. By the way I hope it helps you to bring stunning renders out of your models and gaining blessing money
