Fibix Editor: Realtime rendering tool
-
Just came across this and was wondering if anyone has prior experience using this?
It seems to be in the same league as twinmotion and lumion and its free for non-commercial use! -
Excellent find!
Very new Product : forum has 41 members!
Cool for the Hobbyist for the free no commercial use!But curious Youtube videos are one year old! ?

from the output on their projects page I would hardly deem it to be in the same league as lumion or twinmotion, also you'd have to convert your sketchup work to either 3DS / FBX constantly, there doesn't seem to be a plugin for SU; their forum looks like a gaveyard
it seems like there is some potential in the software, but it needs a lot of development to get it there, the last update/release looks to be from february 2014?
note: the above is my impression from the website and their forum, I have not tried the software

I agree juju.. In terms of quality they have a loong long way to go before they reach the lumion or twinmotion standards... Again.. I havent used it myself.. Was wondering how this missed our radars though!

Thanks for sharing. For what I do, the rendering is good enough. I would like to know more about the animation features and web viewer capabilities though. I am looking for a tool to present our models in an animated web format.
I agree that it would be nice if they supported SU file formats.
Hope no one takes this statement wrong, but I find it interesting that all of these products are coming from Europe and none from any sources in the US. I think Trimble needs to invest in some technology like this (this, Lumion, LumenRT or Twinmotion). I think it could be a huge boost to their product line. Since they were part or Microsoft's big presentation about virtual reality, I would think they would be moving in this direction. Just saying......

Ntxdave... Their fibix viewer seems to be a free downloadable tool which allows users to present their projects...
http://fibix.eu/products/fibix-player/overview/As for ur comment on products based from US.. I think unreal engine is the ultimate tool for real time visualization.. Its a full fledged game engine and as such it is complex too.. Playuptools is currently developing a plugin for sketchup to export to unreal.. And did i mention... its free...!

I took a quick look at the Playtools web site but did not learn much except where to download. They did mention SketchUp.
Maybe I am being unrealistic. I am not all that concerned with rendering (although it does make the models look better) but rather I need to be able to animate equipment as a car drives through a car wash.
I have tried the Keyframe Animation plugin and got some decent results but would like to go a little further. I also tried to install the Simfonia plugin but it did not install correctly and I wound up with a mess. I am also trying the SimLab Composer product but have run into a bit of a problem with it as well (I am talking to their support group to try to find a way to solve my problem - might just be not fully understanding it).
Keep looking though and one of these days, I am going to find a way to get where I want to go. I also like tools like Lumion, LumenRT, and Twinmotion who can do some very neat things but have limited animation capabilities. With each of those I can do a nice "walk thru" and can make the car drive through the car wash but none of them allow me to animate the car wash equipment. I want brushes to spin, arms to move up and down, and even have some equipment move closer/farther away based on the position of the car in the wash.
Again, maybe I am just being unrealistic!!

Maybe u are being unrealistic.. Haha.. But hey dont give up... Someday it will happen.. Or you could perhaps look into some more advanced applications like blender or 3dsmax with animation Capabilities! [THUMBS UP SIGN]
