I’m finally posting the final render of my Taurus Stand, part of my series inspired by JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, but reimagined around the Western zodiac signs.
For this project, I first asked an AI to generate Art Nouveau buildings images based on the theme of the bull, and then on the sacred Hindu cow. I selected four concepts and combined them through photomontage to create a modeling reference for the project (shown in the last image).
The architecture was created in SketchUp, the sculptures were made in Nomad on iPad, and everything was then assembled and rendered in Blender using Cycles.
The two characters and the trees are models downloaded from the internet.
I’m posting both a beauty render and a clay render here, to give a clearer view of how the image and the volumes were constructed.
This Taurus therefore takes the form of an Art Nouveau building, filled with references to the sacred Hindu cow, with the façade designed as a sculptural work in its own right.

Another silk purse. You ARE the Jedi master.

-
@mike-amos I didn't know the expression " You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear" . That' means a lot to me , Mike. May the Force be with you !
@pilou Yes, it was quite complicated to model

Pictures generated by IA from my 3d renders in Blender.
Text IA.Here is a new set of images based on my Taurus building, part of my series of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure-inspired Stands reinterpreted through the European zodiac.
The original building was modeled in SketchUp, with additional sculpting work done in Nomad on iPad, then assembled and rendered in Blender/Cycles.
For this new experiment, I used my own 3D renders as a strict architectural base and asked AI to develop different scenes from them. One important rule throughout the process was to preserve the geometry of the building as much as possible. The AI was mainly used to reinterpret materials, improve photorealism, change the lighting and atmosphere, and add characters or narrative elements.
The first group is in color, with a more magical and extravagant atmosphere. The building becomes inhabited by strange creatures and characters: a unicorn-headed butler welcoming children, a cloud-being pouring a rainbow from a champagne coupe, an Indian princess with a hummingbird-headed prince, a moonlit hive with silver-and-blue bees and a strange smoke filled with eyes, or a crocodile postman delivering a sealed parchment to an old king drinking chai on his balcony.
For the second group I completely changed direction and switched to black and white. I wanted something much darker and more unsettling, inspired by the atmosphere of old spooky cartoons from the late 1920s and early 1930s, but imagined as if those worlds existed in real life.
IA added strong grain, dramatic lighting and a slightly old-film look. The building is then invaded by ghostly figures, spider webs, skull-headed doves, violent thunderstorms, giant carnivorous plants and insects, or a strange party where all the guests wear black bodysuits painted with skeleton bones while hundreds of candles melt over the façade.
So the basic architecture remains the same, but each render becomes a small scene with its own story and atmosphere.
It was also an interesting way for me to use AI not as a substitute for the 3D work, but as a tool for art direction, lighting, material exploration and visual storytelling on top of an existing model.

Three accessories for my “Gemini” Stand project
A few new objects for my Gemini Stand project, part of a series loosely inspired by the idea of Stands in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, combined with the signs of the zodiac.
These three accessories belong to the visual universe I am developing for Gemini. They are not meant to be realistic historical objects; I am trying to mix jewellery, fashion, organic forms, North African/Middle Eastern references and fantasy design.
1 — The shoe
This one is actually the exception here, because no SketchUp was used — but I’m posting it anyway as it belongs to the same project.
It is a very high sculptural shoe whose heel is formed by an iguana’s head. I wanted the animal anatomy to become part of the construction of the shoe rather than simply being applied as decoration.
The modelling/sculpting was mainly done with Nomad Sculpt on iPad and ZBrush, then rendered in Blender.
For the presentation image, I placed it in an imaginary old luxury boutique, with precious wood, contemporary lighting and coloured dry-ice fog. The environment image was generated with AI from my 3D render.
2 — The flask / gourd
This is the second accessory I designed for Gemini, and it is connected to the element of water.
The object combines a rather organic, almost creature-like body with leather, scales, metal elements and jewellery-like ornaments. I used SketchUp, Nomad Sculpt and ZBrush for the different parts, depending on whether I needed more precise construction or more organic sculpting.
For this new version I made a few changes to the materials, particularly the relationship between the reddish leather/scaled surfaces and the golden metal parts.
The final render was made in Blender.
For the presentation, the flask is shown partly submerged in the stream of a desert oasis, surrounded by imaginary fish swimming in the water or flying just above it. Again, this mise-en-scène was generated with AI using my render as the starting point.
3 — The sword
This is a new version of the sword, associated with the element of fire.
The most important change is the blade. Its design is based on the Arabic word for “fire”. I first used AI to stretch and transform the calligraphic word into a long blade-like silhouette, then used that result only as a starting shape and modelled the actual blade in 3D.
So the AI did not create the finished sword: it was used as a design tool to distort the original calligraphy, which I then translated into geometry.
The weapon also includes sculpted organic details in the handle area, including the serpent and jerboa motifs I had developed for the Gemini project.
For this version I wanted the blade to feel less like something that cuts and more like something that consumes. In the presentation images it is therefore surrounded by large rising flames inside a desert cave.
The modelling combines SketchUp, Nomad Sculpt and ZBrush, with the final rendering in Blender. The cave and flame presentation images were generated with AI from the 3D render.
So the workflow for this project is becoming a mixture of:
SketchUp → Nomad Sculpt / ZBrush → Blender → AI for the final environmental presentation images.
I’m mainly using AI here as a way of putting my finished 3D objects into environments that would otherwise take a considerable amount of time to build, while keeping the actual accessory design and modelling as my own 3D work.Larger on these links

Gemini Stand” stands (haha) for le stand des Gémeaux — Gemini being the zodiac sign. It refers to the anime JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, where Stands are supernatural entities or manifestations that fight alongside their users

GEMINI – The Vengeful Spirits
Another Stand from my ongoing 3D project inspired by JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, reimagining the Western zodiac signs.
A little backstory...
Born from an extremely traumatic event, the Gemini Stand emerged when a single spirit split in two, giving birth to a pair of conjoined supernatural entities, each with its own personality and purpose.
The first sister, associated with Fire, is a warrior whose mission is to destroy the wicked. She wields a sword capable of bursting into flames.
The second sister, associated with Water, is colder, quieter, and more mysterious. Her purpose is to avenge victims, using a strange vial positioned above the fontanelle of her skull.
How exactly does it work? I'm keeping that a secret for now...
Together, they form a kind of vengeful ghost — cold, ethereal, and threatening.
About the 3D creation:
This project involved designing and creating numerous individual elements and accessories, each with its own materials, textures, and colors.
Once everything was assembled, I realized the overall design had become far too visually busy. I decided to tone things down, heavily desaturating the colors and unifying the materials to give the character a more spectral appearance.
The challenge was to preserve all those intricate details without losing the overall silhouette and atmosphere.
Modeling and sculpting were done using Blender, ZBrush, and Nomad Sculpt, with additional texture and tattoo work in Procreate on iPad.
Finally, I used AI to place one of my original 3D renders in a gritty 1980s New York wasteland, surrounded by street thugs inspired by the atmosphere of The Warriors (1979).
Two very different worlds colliding — and somehow, they work surprisingly well together!
I bought the heads on the net and added some tattoos on them.
The Fire sister's unusual headdress was inspired by Leucochloridium paradoxum, a parasitic flatworm that infects snails. The parasite invades the snail's eyestalks, causing them to swell into colorful, pulsating structures that resemble caterpillars, making the snail more attractive to birds.
I found this rather disturbing biological phenomenon fascinating and used it as inspiration for a headdress that suggests a living, parasitic organism rather than a purely decorative accessory.
