Follow Me & Align
-
I need a plugin that extrudes a face along a path that rotates around it's own axis and travels up and down in the z and travels freely in the X and Y. Wherever the line goes, I want the face to follow along aligned to that edge and it's face.
Does this exist?

Not totally sure what you want but eneroth's upright extruder might be it.

I want the opposite of what her's does... I think... Her's stays upright, I want mine to rotate with the face as it does, when it does, if it does.
see this fence? it's supposed to follow the face at a right 90 all the way around.
geometry loaded.

Well maybe. This is tougher problem than you would think because of the introduction of the faces into the equation. That means you can't use a curve but must deal with the individual edges that make up the outer loop of the "oval". Then there is the problem of identifying them.
My solution is to first select any edge of the outer loop. Then eliminate all the tieing edges that deviate by more that 20 degrees from the selected edge and then repeat with the next edge until I'm back at my starting point. Now I look at each individual edge and place copies of the "barrier" along the edge and perpendicular to its' face. This requires that the component be scaled in the X to eliminate "partials".

I hadn't even dreamed of getting a fresh plugin and that it would work on comps. I was just hoping someone knew of a plugin that would extrude it. You da man Mitch! I'll give it a try in just a minute.
