I ignored modeling for the same reason
but sculpting was easy to overcome, and there was a free video, demonstrating basics of sculpting using Blender I hanged of it. -

An easy way to ask for any help.BTW, blender modeling is very powerful too.
You should try cycles rendering. -
Michalis, I was expecting you to take a look and have your idea, as I know you are a fan of Blender. I must declare that it is really great tool, despite the fact that I am noob. I will be patient to be more familiar and then will join the Blender forum

After a few years, I finally decided to try learning texturing, texture painting, and Rigging in Blender3D. Here is the result.
