I came across several interesting pieces designed by Richard Meier: An armchair, a rather high glass-topped coffee table, and what he calls a low stool Meier is the postmodern architect responsible for the Getty Center in Los Angeles and the High Museum in Atlanta, among many other buildings. His furniture style is very reminiscent of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Josef Hoffmann, influential designers from the turn of the 20th Century. The chair in particular is very much like one of Hoffmann's. All the originals are made from black lacquered maple. In any event, these were fun to model--and they're about as close as I will ever get to the real thing.
      Best,
      dh
