Robot fun
-
I haven't been inspired much lately, so I decided to try this old tutorial for fun by Andre Fritz.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wSvMUdnW_8
I'm going to keep playing with it and modifying it for fun until I get tired of it or get inspired by another project.

Still just goofing around.

The point of this model for me, is to play with polygons of odd shapes and at odd angles. I now realize this is the key to using Artisan later.
Plus I've not made a "just for the hell of it" model in a long time.
(that and I just bought a new mouse. the old one was getting jittery and jumping around too much)
-
More tweaking, nipping and tucking. Still need forearms, hands and feet and will eventually rework the head, then add greeble of some kind.
-
Forearms.
-
Reworked calves and knees and minor rescaling of arms.
Still using the same basic technique as the tutorial for the shapes.
-
Epic, just epic!

Thanks! Really just goofing around.
Like I said, I'm always trying to learn new techniques and I'm usually pretty serious in the process, but this one I'm just playing with.

Updated hips.
-
Better hip shots. (BA DUMP BA)

Meh. I don't like the pelvis/hip structure. I'll post an update this weekend.

Updates
-
Playing around with head ideas.
-
Back to a more mechanical head.
-
Looks awesome. Would be nice if it was created in real world with servos and other electrical components. I think it would perform well, in terms of running and acrobatic stuff.

Thanks Anton.

Are you going to upload the model to 3d warehouse or here? I would like to enchant it with SketchyPhysics.

I will probably upload the model here.
I would love to see SketchyPhysics applied to this. I can't get SP to work for me.
All that's left on the model is to make the hands and do some decorative enhancements.
