      Hi All:

Anyone want to model this tea tin? I need it both w/the photo texture mapped on, as well as a version with two textures (the black on the tin and the gold rim) so I can render it using VRay.

      Size: 4x4x6

      Much appreciated!
      Susan

It should have take you less time to model this than to post as you're advanced.

Although I haven't setup materials for Vray, here's a quick model I made in less than 10 minutes (incl. the render in Thea)...
I hope you can use it...!?

Not sure I understand why you can't make such a simple model yourself, especially since you've set your SU skills to Advanced... 😐

Size according to your info, but there's so many things, where I needed to eye ball (is this the correct term??) it and model...
Not sure what you mean regarding "w/the photo texture mapped on"...?? πŸ˜•

Any way... I hope you can use it...!?

Had a little spare time to make a few adjustment to the lid and base... πŸ˜„
Again... Materials are setup to use with Thea Render, so you'll need to adjust them for Vray yourself...

They're UV-mapped as cylinders, so you should be able to use a photo-texture... πŸ˜‰

I gather OP has lots to do and can use a little side help now and then.

It's fair that people need a little help now and then...
However, as Gilles have mentioned, mooarchi have set her SU level to Advanced, and such an easy model could easily have been made in a similar time as it took to post this thread...
I made my model in app. 10 minutes... If need be, I can make a quick tutorial, showing how easy it is to make... πŸ˜„

What annoyes me even more is, that I can see Susan has been online, but that she haven't even written a short THANK YOU...

It's happening far too often that users are asking for advice and help, but they never return, showing just a little gratitude... 😒

Well Tom that is definetelly true, however the post title and all the attitude related to it is justified IMHO.

Title: Model 'Tea Tin' for Pay - wich implies someone needs a job well done and is willing to pay for it

First post text: asking for help giving the subject and nicely put (though didn't mention payment conditions or specifying anything about payment)

Replies: First of the responses was pretty amusing as an advanced user should be able to do this so fast that it really is wasted time to post here. As always in this forum there are several responses and then, someone with 20minutes spare time takes his time to help. I am absolutely sure that Frederick didn't even bother to read that there was payment involved at the title. Even if the job was simple enough, modeling, texturing, material and lighting really came out perfectly.

Conclusion#1: No reply from the author, no thanks (I shouldn't even bother about talkinf of payment)

Conclusion#2: The community (me actually) comes out with a simple yet excellent model for another project. Nothing is wasted here wich is great, but "here" exists because of willingful people that share and thank.
