How are things in YOUR country?

Yes, I agree! It looks to me that big corps and banks are to all intents and purposes answerable to NO government.
There are moves afoot to change this situation but I won't hold by breath as 'money talks' and Big Money talks the loudest. On the other hand too much government control can be a bad thing when it comes to commerce. Show me a politician that has personally created true wealth or built a company that manufactures useful good or services? I think you would only need one hand to count them.
It looks to me more and more that 'we' (nations of the world) are heading towards some kind of New World Order as the so called 3rd World countries gradually 'catch up' with the Western World's living standards. BTW, I think many will agree that presently the living standards of the current Western World block are dropping year in year out!
I read an article by John Rubino Welcome to the Currency War, Part 14: Russia, China, India Bypass the Petrodollar http://dollarcollapse.com/currency-war-2/welcome-to-the-currency-war-part-14-russia-china-india-bypass-the-petrodollar/ which puts the case that the BRICS are bonding and setting themselves up as a power to be reckoned with. If they can pull it off and set up a new currency standard, possibly linked to gold, (Note! They are all currently accumulating vast amounts) I think the West as the leading economic force will have to 'push over in the bed' and make room for a new equal partner.
Now that the EU are signing deals with the US for cheap gas and placing less reliance on Russian oil / gas it looks like the world players are forming teams. Hopefully the 'play off' will not come to military conflict, then again I doubt this will be the case as the 'players' all have the total game changer which, if used, would be a total game finisher.

Hi Folks,
I came across a photo of our president today in one of the Irish newspapers. Michel D (as we call him) was standing in line to withdraw his €20 for a couple of pints!
I doubt there are many countries in the World that the president would feel secure enough to line up just like an ordinary citizen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_D._HigginsMike

tremors Daily update ⋅ April 8, 2014 NEWS
A swarm of small earthquakes on Mount Hood
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A series of tremors near Mount Hood has intrigued scientists, who note that the quakes are taking place alongside a recently-discovered fault.
KGW-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1knb8E7) a swarm of small earthquakes on Mount Hood has captured the attention of state geologists and rattled the nerves of some nearby residents, especially after a 3.3-magnitude quake in Sherwood on Sunday.
Over the past two weeks, Oregon and Washington have experienced more than 130 earthquakes, according to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network.
Oregon geologist Ian Madin says the tremors on Mount Hood are not tied to volcanic activity.

Yes, I think he was a good choice for President and most here are behind him. He is currently on the first EVER state visit by an Irish President to the UK ......... it has been a long time coming.
His addresses have been very entertaining and extremely eloquent. The 'up side' for the Queen is that she wont get a 'crick' in her neck from talking to him -
Seems he did great job then. Here is image that would describe how our el presidente deals with things

Yes to all of the above, but most especially yes to the first point in the US.
Somehow, business has managed to not be bound by the Constitution. I constantly have to remind people that Congress CAN regulate business any way it sees fit without restriction or exceptions.
The Commerce Clause, Article I Section 8 Clause 3 of the Constitution of the United States, grants Congress the power “To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes”. The commerce power is an enumerated power of Congress and the Supreme Court has interpreted it as an express grant of authority to Congress and an affirmative limitation on the rights of the states to regulate commerce within their own borders.

A couple of noteworthy things came to my attention today.
The first relates to what is happening in my neck of the woods. When future generations of Irish were put into economic slavery by our cowardly elected political class to prop up the banksters around Europe the IMF set out requirements with regards to what happens with the country's assets. It now looks that these assets are being no sold off at bargain prices to the actual banksters that the populous propped up in the first place! It has happened in Greece and is now happening in Ireland. Next I imagine will be Portugal, Spain, Italy etc etc.
Its mind boggling to say the least. However it looks that many folks here are actually now understanding what is taking place in spite of little or no reporting by the so called nation media and getting quite pissed off.
We have local and EU elections coming up on the 23rd May and it will be interesting to see which way the general vote goes. I have a feeling that the government parties that got the country into the mess in the first place and the shower that is currently playing along with the banksters will find out that they are not that popular any longer. I expect to see a huge swing to the 'left'. What happens after that will be interesting!
On the international front it looks like Russia is now continuing with the chess game! 'Russia strives to exclude the dollar from energy trading' http://voiceofrussia.com/2014_05_13/Russia-strives-to-exclude-the-dollar-from-energy-trading-5138/ This 'move' is little reported in the western media.
From what I understood it would have taken years for Russia to organise a system to lessen the Petro Dollars influence but maybe it about to happen. As long as all sides (USA, EU, BRICKS) keep playing the chess game I am not too concerned as the 'man on the street' gets along which or ever. If it turns into something more than chess, that is a different matter.
