Just noticed 3D Print Helper. The blurb says 'It doesn't matter if you don't have a 3D printer. To make 3D-like paper, what you need are a common 2D printer and this freeware!'

Its Windows only and can be checked out here, http://www.wgystudio.com/3d-print-helper/index.html

I have not tried it but would be interested in seeing the resulting images if anyone cares to give it a run.
