Architectural Illustration Conference
-
I am helping to organize a 3-day architectural rendering conference in Dallas, TX next year and wanted to ask the membership here what sort of topics you feel are most beneficial? This can be anything from architectural tours, classroom workshops, business seminars, inspirational TED talk type lectures, meet and greets with designers, informal happy hours, etc.
What are your thoughts?

Nobody has any input on what they would like to see at an AI Conference?
-
- The future of AI
- Use of technology in AI
- Best practices in AI
- Best practices in mixing technology with traditional illustration
- When to use technology vs traditional illustration techniques
- Time management in AI
This is a conference I am very much interested in. And it is fairly close to family so it might work out as a vacation / conference trip.

You mentioned TED type talks and I thought of an architect's talk I saw on TED. What I found fascinating was his use of graphics and animation. soo.. One topic might be covered by such an innovative person showing effective presentation graphics. It would not just be "here is a nice archviz picture" but all types of graphics that might go into a full presentation and the sorts of interesting things that can be done and how they work together for a coherent, informative, and attractive presentation.
I think the basics are (should be)learned by architects in school but even the basics might be helpful to archviz professionals (who may not be trained architects) and then add the cool innovations or styles to that.

Those are really great idea! I'm going to pass them along to the ASAI 2014 President.
