So yeah, It's late at night and I was pulling my hair out over some containers I was modelling.

My weird side took over and I decided to build this. A fort/small level/container mania. Just took one container and modified it a few times. (One has two sets of doors (both open), One has one door and the back cut out, one has two sets of doors (1 of each open) etc etc)

Wanted to share it before I collapse into a dreamless sleep πŸ˜†

        Hi Scott,

Cool containers. Are you planning on texturing them?

You wrote that you use Sketchup for game or sci-fi modeling. May I ask what game(s) are you working on?

        Have a great day!

Sorry for the late reply, but I love the layout for game scenario.

As I've learned (the hard way πŸ˜† ) shipping containers are deceptively simple until you start modeling them. (to ashamed of my last efforts to post the results) Your models look great.

As ken as asked, will you texture them? Even straight colors would look good. πŸ‘

(kudos to others here who done some fantastic shipping containers)

Hi Ken. Thanks! My texturing is pretty awful.. I used to use Bryce as that was really good.

I am not doing any games right now. Sort of still learning. The models I make though could be turned into game assets if I tweaked them a little bit. I just make models and import into UNITY and have fun lol.

            • Bryan. Thanks! Yes they can be very tricky lol. They cannot be that bad? Post them here! πŸ˜„

As I said my texturing is bad but I'm looking into UV. Seems mind boggling but I might get round to a full cycle at the weekend..

Here is a quick render of the containers using SU's own metal collection pack.

            Enjoy!

Hello Scott, before you jump into external UV mapping with two feet, learn to use SU's tools and the multitude of plugins available here! Take a look at Thom's fantastic plugins first.
Download a few Containers from the wharehouse and see how people apply their textures πŸ˜‰
