yeah.. the unibody alone makes those things worth the cash.. they're super strong while maintaining low profiles..

but for whatever reason, a lot of people like to think they're nothing other than shiny toys.. well, my toys have quite a few dents and dings in them (job site computers) but they're still running just fine. πŸ‘

sort of a cheesy apple_ized video with their little music background etc but worth a watch if you're nerdy about manufacturing processes..

I'm using a MacBook Pro 15" Mid 2010 with matte screen since the beginning with Windows 7 Pro x64 only.
Right after the first bootup and registration i formatted the drive and made a clean windows install...
It still puts a smile on my face every day i touch it... really a great piece of hardware!
Recently i installed a Samsung SSD in it - feels like a new laptop now πŸ˜„

I'm retiring my 17" mid 2010 MBP next week when my new 15" MBP Retina arrives. After viewing SU on retina it spurred me to get the credit card out. Fortunately a mid 2012 MBP retina with the following spec turned up on the Apple refurbished page at 15% discount!

            15-inch: 2.7GHz with Retina display
            2.7GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
            Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz
            16GB 1600MHz memory
            768GB flash storage1
            Intel HD Graphics 4000
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1GB of GDDR5 memory

Its still pricey at €2161+VAT but the test for me will be what I will get for the 17" on DoneDeal, a selling site in this neck of the woods. I see there is still good demand for 2010 MBPs. The indicated price rage is €800 - €1200! Now, how many Windows laptops can match that kind of resale value, not many I feel.

Maybe because I use my laptop until it can't be sold anymore πŸ˜†
I think the screen will make a nice photo frame once I can detach it, and the rest goes through the extruder for 3d printing (ok, that is only a dream)
