Any smokers here? Wanna quit?

Cheers Oli, thanks Gareth, presumably the Adelaide stuff is nic free?

Yeh mate, the Adelaide stuff is nic free. I buy them as doublers and add my own nic. I bought 1.25 litres 24mg nicotine with 50/50 PG/VG about 18 months ago.
The 24mg is too strong for me now so I dilute it with VG and it ends up around 6-8mg.
Occasionally I mix with no nic....must admit, sometimes it takes me several hours to notice the difference and it makes me wonder how easy it would be to vape totally nic free. But I have the nic juice so I may as well use it until it runs out !!

Hey Baz.....took a peep at your profile and just realised you are in Melbourne.
Will have to catch up next time I'm over there !

Sure! About an hour south of Melbourne, in Mornington. Come for a sail.
-
I have an Architect mate in South Yarra....he has done a bit of work on the Mornington Peninsula.....I hear it's a lovely spot

I don't do DIY just for price....I just can't find premixed flavours I like any more. I would rather buy flavourings and make my own cocktails as the result is always better.
I occasionally buy premixed liquid from a shop....but they mix their own stuff. I have noticed that shops who sell their own concoctions often have better e-liquid. I don't know what it is about DIY but it seems to be higher quality than mass-produced e-liquid. Maybe because it's fresh I don't know?
I have also noticed some premixed e-liquids discolour when vaped, leave residue, go sickly tasting, harsh on the throat etc....always seems to be chinese imported ones. Lots of premixed liquid in the UK is very high PG and I can't stand that; gives me a tight throat.

My problem with vaping:
I would like to be able to "smoke", not to "drink"
My setup: iStick TC40W, aspire Nautilus (large 6ml / ~1.8 Ω)
Now testing "Halo" liquid, "Longhorn" flavor.
Not bad at all, however, sometimes I find myself rather drinking than smoking.
(yeah, using the largest hole for the air) (tested 8.5-10.5 W)edit:
Just trashed this expensive aspire nautilus. I really enjoyed the sound.
back in cigarettes, the real ones, the dangerous ones.
Sorry, I better be a smoker than a drinker.
Can't give up, too much for me. Though I spent ~400 euros in two weeks, for nothing.I asked a few friends about it.
Funny, they all share the same opinion.
So, I'm asking, what's up doc ?
How do you manage this drinking thing? -
Sorry to hear that your experience hasn't been enjoyable.
Yep, we have all probably had an incident or two with flooding. I use an Aspire Nautilus and it works a treat.
It took me a while to settle into vaping (finding nice liquids, and something reliable to fit onto my Provari). But eventually it replaced smoking completely, and I don't regret it for a moment.
Geeeeeeez.....I'm sounding like a preacher...!!

No, no, five people here, this is not an incident. Flooding always, always.
Probably a bad equipment, this nautilus. I wonder though, how you manage such an unfortunate thing.
Still wondering.
IMO,this small resister thing. Problematic at least. The cotton? Who knows.I wish you were sounding like a preacher…
Sorry. It doesn't work for me, no, for us…
I wish it would. -
Just find a device that doesn't leak Michalis. Holding the vape horizontally while vaping can also cause flooding.
I don't know how you've had all these problems mate!
-
Also using aspire nautilus x 2. No flooding except for when I got liquid in the center tube accidentally, a good clean fixed it. Did have a Kanger which always gurgled, I tossed it.
-
I didn't find a device not leaking yet.
Just lost ~400 euros, buying and listening to idiots.
Smoking habits are very personal. Nothing good for me yet.
The closest to my taste, maybe, the GS-Air M by eleaf, cooking these resistors (~1.2-1.5 Ω) at 4.35V.
Not a cool vaping, however no flooding this way.
@Oli
No leaking so far, over flooding is my problem. -
Who gave you the advice? We probably could have recommended some tried and tested devices.
The lower the resistance, the more intense and fiery the vapour will be at that voltage.
Try coils in the 1.5 to 1.8 ohm range. This is more like a cigarette experience, you take it into your mouth and draw back again. Some of the low resistance and sub ohm devices require direct lung inhale and it really isn't for everyone. I prefer my Kayfun with 1.6-1.8ohm coil at between 6-8watts. Pure flavour and smooth.

See how personal it is?
I'm aware of these settings, didn't work for me. It is drinking not smoking.
Such settings made me almost quit e-cig.
A continuous wet frrr frrrr, mouth full of liquid. Not for me. A friend of mine, using similar settings, has no issues.
The way I'm using coil at 1.6, 1.8 Ω : above 12, probably 15 watts.
On a coil ~0.5 Ω, above 20 watts.
Keep in mind, I hate lung inhale.
Probably I'm after something closer to pipe smoking? Halo "longhorn" flavor is also closer to pipe tobacco. Somehow… I'm back on the game. -
Don't give up so quick Michalis! You defeated the beast (blender), what the funck!
After all, it's your choice but, trust me, you will give up so much more. I'm talking about benefits, and it's all related to health. C'mon, you have GG there, you have E-Cig liquids there. Try Ace N1 flavour from E-Cig. It's the best tobacco flavour I've had...ever!
Cheers,
Stefan -
I'm not a fan of lung inhale either. Yeah good point Stefan! You tamed blender you can tame a bloody e-cig mate!!
yes it is quite personal....but you need to at least find something that's not flooding. Happy days when you find something you like.
-
Have some smoke rings.
-
Thanks so much for the replays, really appreciate it.

Actually the beast defeated me.
-
Got a kanger SUbox.....it's awesome!!!
-
Cloud chaser setup, nice change. 0.5 ohm coil.
