Any smokers here? Wanna quit?

I think with all this participation Mike needs to run a segment in the next Catchup, maybe even have a review of different models.

Excellent news and a great testimonial. I was wondering how you were getting on and I'm glad you reported back with good news!
Well done iichiversii.

Well done iichiversii!!! Congrats!
About my EVOD BCC atomizer, what can I say, it's better that the "standard" ones, looks better , taste is better. I bought a second one today, but sadly for me, I didn't find yet replaceable pins for it. I did found them on-line, but they are so cheap that the transport will cost more. So far so good, the first one that I had it's still in good shape, no drips so far. It is a solid cheap product, I'll stress it more (the first one) to see when it's going to fault. Maybe I'll end up rebuilding the pins, who knows, I'm kind of a patient type, so it could be fun to try it.
I did find a video review of it, so if you guys have the patience until of the end, this guy end up rebuilding the pin, so it should be fun and informative.
Cheers to all and happy vaping! -
Thanks lads, And I hope ye are all aven success with it as I am, ummm solo that's a great idea, does Mike smoke tho? I know Rich smokes, maybe we could convert him to using a E-Cig and right a review, lol

Mike, Csaba and Rich smoke, hope that next basecamp we are sharing juices sounds strange.

Thanks Stefan. My friends and family are still using EGO tanks so I will get them to try the EVOD instead. EGOs are good beginner vapes, but after a while you need more consistency. I take it you are still using your EGO battery?
That's the GREAT thing about rebuildables, the wire and wick are very cheap. The tank is expensive to buy initially but you never have to buy an atomizer again. The vapour is consistent and very tasty, no dry hits, even when liquid is very low. It really is another level of vape!
I recommend 0.16mm Nichrome and 2mm Ekowool Silica Wick. At least with a Kayfun anyway. The EVOD works on a similar principle to draw liquid onto the wick.
Ekowool is non organic and won't burn, it doesn't taint the flavour either....very good stuff.
Rebuildable atomizers that use a stainless steel wick are notoriously extremely difficult to setup and prime. So best stick to ones that use a silica wick or equivalent IMHO.
I mixed grape with red bull today for a change, nice combo. The grape has more VG in so I'm getting more vapour production too.
I've read a 50/50 VG/PG mix is best. Depends on personal preference too. I can't wait to DIY some juice!

Yes he does, I believe he was gonna try an alternative vaper that heats natural tobacco. Unfortunate thing with those is they do not create plumes of vapour....and you have to buy tobacco £££. Still healthier than smoking though.
Good thing about these E-Cigs, you don't need converting. Just have a vape and you won't look back. Sampling the right flavour is all you need to do.
-
Ummm, lets convert all 3 of them, 3 reviewers with 3 different products, now that would be very interesting, beta on who will cave first
-
Yes Pete, cinnamon flavours are VERY popular. I used to buy Big Red chewing gum but they don't sell it in UK anymore. I would also like to try a similar flavour, if it's not too 'hot'
Great news Juan! Yes red bull flavour is great, there are many different ones too. It's like choosing between Red Bull/Monster/Relentless energy drinks....slightly different tastes.
Yes spare batteries are required!
Pete I am so jealous of your shop. Here is the piece of shit I go to!! They also top up printer cartridges
I am getting somewhere with the Kayfun 3.1. I was coiling my wire too tight which resulted in a disgusting burnt hair taste.
After 4 re-coils I have almost cracked it. The flavour is OUTSTANDING in a kayfun, I can taste a full palette of flavour. VERY consistent vapour, no deterioration over time. Just smooth, steady vape. Fully adjustable air flow/vapour production. You can fill the atomizer through a special valve in the side too, no messy leaks.
However, as the Kayfun delivers nicotine so effectively I had to halve the nicotine level in my E-liquid. So now I'm on 10 or 12mg nicotine. The nicotine is waaaaaay too strong at 24mg, I could taste it too. The manufacturer also recommends halving nicotine level when you change to a Kayfun. So I still get the same fix of nicotine, but only use 12mg.
I do not recommend the Kayfun to beginners. Get used to vaping first, see what flavours you enjoy and then consider the upgrade when you get sick of buying new atomizers. For most people, I believe an EGO is great and stops you smoking, but for a long-term plan I suggest trying out a rebuildable atomizer.
It can be very frustrating the first time you coil your own atomizer. How hard can it be to coil a wire round a silica wick? Answer: VERY! You have to coil it just right, not too tight or slack....and with no excess wire. I was almost pulling my hair out with frustration at first, but now I can make the coil almost perfect and the effect is stunning.
With larger atomizers you need to draw back a bit longer for a huge plume of vapour, but that's OK for me.
Kayfun 3.1 scores:
Flavour/Taste: 10/10 (WOW!)
Vapour Production : 9/10
Vapour Consistency: 10/10
Ease of Use: 7/10 (tricky at first, but easy now)
Ease of Coiling: 8/10 (although much easier than other rebuildable atomizers)
Ease of Maintenance: 10/10
Build Quality: 10/10 (unrivalled)
Feel in the hand: 10/10
Price: 8/10Provario 2.5 Mini scores:
Flavour/Taste: NA
Vapour Production : variable voltage, choose your setting.
Vapour Consistency: voltage stays constant even when battery is low
Ease of Use: 10/10
Ease of Coiling: NA
Ease of Maintenance: 10/10
Build Quality: 10/10
Feel in the hand 10/10
Battery Life: 7/10 (get a spare battery)
Price: 4/10 (expensive for what it is)If you are a hardcore vaper and don't mind a larger rig, go for the normal size Provari 2.5 like Pete's. Extension caps are also available for the Provari Mini to use larger batteries but this negates it's small size.
Photos on the way.

My wife was just saying that this weekend, when we go out I normally get into some sort of religious discussion with friends and weirdo's, but recently I have been converting smokers instead.

I found myself in a nite club Saturday wk, and in a packed smoking area I was getting some odd looks, but I was approached on many occasion with queries on the matter, I think I convinced them, I'm wondering now if I go bk to the same club will there be a vapouring area, lol
-
just vape inside! it's legal I had a vape in tesco today.
-
Yeah I did that for a while but I drew the security on myself twice, it was funny at first but the more it happened the more annoying it became, so I just joined the smokers, lol

I tried vaping with the smokers but the smell of tobacco made me sick.

I work in a small shop, only five guys, all smokers. At this moment, only one still light up stickies. At first, they looked strange at me, laughing. Now, we change impressions about liquids and such. One of them tried a fag yesterday (don't understand why) and he told me he was so close to puke .
I'm 18 days smoke-free, which is A LOT for an ex-smoker. -
It was 8 weeks smoke-free for me yesterday.
My chest doesn't wheeze or crackle on exhale. I could never completely clear my chest, now my lungs feel clean. I don't cough any more.
I feel like my lung capacity has tripled. No dizzy spells, I can blow up balloons without passing out. My VO2 levels must be off the scale now, I can run and train without any noticeable shortness of breath.
My blood pressure has reduced. When I coughed from smoking, I could feel intense pressure in my shoulders and hands, like pins and needles pain. I discovered this was a sign of very high blood pressure and it really scared me. I have not experienced any such problems since. My resting heart rate has also decreased
My skin looks better. Less dry, and "grey"....smoking gives a grey transparency to your skin and ages you quicker. I used to have black bags under my eyes constantly, no matter how much I slept. Now they have nearly gone!! I look so much better and feel more confident.
WOW. What a difference.

I'm like everyone here thought I would never be able to quit 2 weeks for me.
