      Nice setup!!

The "Kayfun" works best between 6 and 8 watts. I find 7 to 7.5 is the sweet spot. You may be getting hot vapour because you are simply using a voltage/wattage that is too high. This is the mistake I made at first....I wanted an immediate cloud of vapour which simply is not possible in a larger tank. You need to draw for longer rather than a short hard hit. This will easily reduce it from hot to nice and warm.

I vape at 4.1 volts for a fresh coil and build up to 4.6 volts towards the end of its life. 4.7 would be the absolute max. My coil is 2.5 ohms which rises to 2.7 over 2-3 weeks.

I also vape a 50/50 PG/VG mix. This helps getting better vapour production in the Kayfun, you simply don't need to draw back as long, keeping the vapour warm and never hot. I found higher PG mixtures do tingle the tip of your tongue a little bit, so the maximum ratio I would use in a Kayfun is 60/40 PG/VG.

Hope this helps, the Kayfun can be a beast to tame but when you do you will never vape anything else!

It should also never leak. Even if you hold it upside down you should not get any leaking whatsoever, if you do, check all the O rings are in place and everything is screwed tightly.

Here is the kayfun 3.1 user manual, it covers every problem you could possibly face....just ignore the bit about filling it up because it only applies to the 3.1 ES which has a valve on the side.

        @Gareth,
Great to hear you're finding your sweet spot.
The Plume Room is indeed wonderful.

I recently have found another great e-juice company : http://www.goodlifevapor.com
Great flavours and price wise just a little step up from Mt Baker Vapor.
So far I enjoy the Melon Boba and Nana's Nuts.
They provide the option to add a little mint to each juice. Very nice touch.
Shipping is quite fast, I believe just over 2 weeks to Perth, which is fast for being in the most remote big city of the world πŸ˜„

Thanks for the link mate....just placed a small order...!!

Nana's Nuts is sold out though....bugga eh ?!!

        I ordered :

        • 9 2 5
        • Deadly Sin
        • El Kamino
        • The Keys

50mls for just $20 is pretty good and priority shipping is only $39.95....looking forward to tasting them..!

          Hey guys,

I just made my own special recipe. It's gorgeous. I've been looking for a generic candy/tropical flavour and I made a beauty. It's one of those flavours where you can't quite put your finger on it, you keep guessing what it reminds you of.

It tastes like a cross between Refreshers and Parma Violets.

          http://d13z1xw8270sfc.cloudfront.net/origin/1978/refresh.jpg

          http://www.handycandy.co.uk/images/74.jpg

          Here is my recipe:

          25ml. 12mg Nicotine. 50/50 PG/VG. 10% Flavour.

          5.55ml Neat54 Nicotine (PG based)
          4.45ml PG
          12.5ml AG (85% VG + 15% de-ionised water)
          1.0ml Blackberry Flavour
          0.75ml Cantaloupe Flavour
          0.75ml Peach Flavour

An alternative which is a bit more "rounded" is:

          25ml. 12mg Nicotine. 50/50 PG/VG. 10% Flavour.

          5.55ml Neat54 Nicotine (PG based)
          4.45ml PG
          12.5ml AG (85% VG + 15% de-ionised water)
          0.5ml Blackberry Flavour
          1.0ml Cantaloupe Flavour
          1.0ml Peach Flavour

I urge anyone to try this, it's a beauty that leaves you guessing what it tastes like! Enjoy!

I'll probably try it tomorrow and sample some flavors. πŸ’š

I have the eGo-T. Just broke down and got it on a whim after reading all the posts in here.
Was driving by and saw a Vap shop. that is just a Vap shop nothing more. Pretty cool... they let you try different units. Had about 100 sample flavors in different levels and a big screen TV just to kick it relax and try......so I did πŸ˜„

Which flavours did you go for? Strength? How many cigarettes were you smoking per day?

I was smoking 2 1/2 packs a day, and went with the 12 mg. The first flavor is English toffee. I am having to get used to it. It seems harsh. Unless I take really small hits it makes me couth my head off. Am I too high at 12 mg.? It doesn't seem so because I always seem to want more..

The nicotine level does not affect harshness (or throat hit as we call it). 18mg may be better for you if you smoked 2.5 packs a day. 24mg may be a bit too high and make you feel dizzy.

The liquid you are vaping will have a high PG ratio. For smooth vapour you need a liquid which has a higher VG ratio. High VG ratio also gives much bigger plumes of vapour.

I recommend liquids with a 60/40 PG/VG mix or 50/50. I am currently vaping a 60/40 mix and loving it.

100% PG liquids just make me cough and have little vapour production. Some people like this, although, it's not so common.

You will find US liquids are smoother and have more vapour. Chinese liquids tend to be harsh with less vapour. It's because Chinese cigarettes are generally much harsher than US ones, so the e-liquid industry makes liquids according to the target market. This is just a general rule of thumb; the only way you'll know if the liquid is harsh or not is to find out before buying what the PG/VG ratio is.

When you find a nice flavour with smooth vapour, you'll never look back. πŸ˜„

The coil could be roasted causing a burning of juice hence the coughing also.

Ok so I did some "research". The liquid I bought is a 50/50. The smokes I were smoking were a "Light". The "burn" I am getting is about the same as when I would smoke a cig down to the butt. So if I go with a 40/60 that would make it smoother, or should I just wait and see if I get used to the 50/50?

Most of my liquids are 60/40 and 50/50 @ 18mg nicotine. The more expensive ones are very smooth, however, I bought some cheap eLiquids earlier on and they are not so pleasant on the throat (and the flavours aren't so good either)

Try vaping at a lower voltage (if you have that option)

I am becoming convinced that it is worth paying a little more to get good liquids which have a nice flavour and throat hit. Some of the Americans seem to do this very well. The Plume Room and GoodLife in particular, and to a slightly lesser extent Mt Baker)

Its noteworthy that liquids with impurities are also very harsh, they are usually cheap. Good advice Gareth.

Could also be the atomiser that is giving the burnt taste. EGOs do deteriorate quite quickly and occasionally I've had one that tastes terrible straight away.

Try a new atomiser head and a new brand liquid. 50/50 mix is generally very smooth. It's only when you start going to 80/20 PG/VG that you get a big throat hit. Remember its the PG that gives throat hit and VG gives large smooth plumes.

If you still don't have any success try an EVOD at least, it's a very popular atomiser and consistently smooth. The EGO is OK but strictly a beginner device which is actually quite infuriating at times as it's so inconsistent. I used one for a month or so before I upgraded.

Please don't be put off by this experience....sounds like you either have a dud device or liquid. πŸ˜„

                                      Thanks for corroborating that Pete.

Might be an idea to just change the atomiser head first to eliminate what is causing the issue.

I doubt very much that a 50/50 liquid is too harsh. In fact, I find 50/50 almost too smooth so I have gone back up to 60/40 for a bit more throat hit.

Again, don't be put off I think you've just been a bit unlucky.

                                          I'm not here much anymore.

                                            Nice work Dan!

Yeah smoking absolutely stinks. Not just around your house but clothes, furniture, skin, hair, car etc....

Nearly a year smoke-free for me now.

I'm still on 12mg nicotine, will probably reduce when I get back from holiday.

Speaking of which.....does anyone know what the rules are regarding E-Cigs and travelling by air? Am I even allowed to take my E-Liquid into Switzerland?

I've got a feeling that several unmarked bottles in my main luggage might look suspicious, so should I juist buy some labelled pre-mixed liquids?

Last thing I want is to arrive in Switzerland with confiscated E-Liquid and E-Cigs!!! I am definitely not carrying anything in my hand luggage though, that's obvious.
