      Dear all,

I need to access a Sketchup 3d model through a web browser. The real model will be saved in a server. Clients should be able to explore the SU model. they should be able to orbit around and walk through the model. This should be just like browsing the internet and viewing web pages. Users don't have to download and install any plugin to view the model.
      is this possible to achieve?
      Thank you in advance

It is not possible with Sketchup directly, no.

There are different types of viewers out there. I do not know much about them, but pdf has 3d capapbility. My understanding is that pdf is not good at "exploring" models, but good for just sort of looking at them from around the outside of the model. More like how one would look at a model of a screw, than a model of a building interior.

I've still never seen any in browser navigation tool that I've been impressed with. Frankly, I've never even seen one that that I was remotely interested in.

BUT as always, maybe someone around here has some awesome solution. That happens regularly ๐Ÿ˜„

I think there currently is no solution that require no download.

But I think it is coming. If you look at the gallery at the SketchUp website they have 3D model in the browser if you have a modern one.

My Company will prepare 3d models for viewing remotely. The client just needs to download an .exe file which runs a viewer and opens the model for navigation. It is possible to host it on a server and have multiple users log in and access the same model simultaneously. Here are some samples of model quality, along with a test download model to play with.

the test model for download is on this page here where it says "Download Steamboat Springs Vizhen Model" or something like that:

I think the LightUp Player is quite good... especially if you want to embed content on your own site

Ahh, I forgot that LightUp has a web player. Your client would need to install a viewer though. But that is minimal. That would be a great option!
