Sketchup is portable... as far as I know you can just move the folder and run it. I used to have a portable version of sketchup on a flash drive. this was a few years back... So unless they've changed something.

olishea - Well the goal is to have the player click the "app" and game will start automatically. Right now I am integrating Anton_S SU Window Settings 2.0.0 so that default menus & toolbars are not shown.

I have my own menu interface like the one in "KeyScene" were the keyboard is used to navigate through the menu so the game feels like any other game. The only difference is that I am using SketchUp as a game engine I guess.

Krisidious - Thank for that I will test this and see if it was that easy to solve....fingers crossed!

Note: I need to unistall Pro version to be able to install Free version -_- not good

SketchUp is not portable from its design (though it might work nevertheless portable, especially if a local installation is on the same computer). I just want to add a warning: whoever reads this, never install SketchUp directly on a thumbdrive! Otherwise it can happen that you can never uninstall/reinstall SketchUp without nuking and reinstalling the system (or very difficult registry repair).

Rafael, the SketchUp Viewer does not have the Ruby API, but you are on the right track with the SketchUp Free installer. If that is too complicated to distribute, I believe alternative game engines (Unity etc.) are more customizable but would require their own programing.

              Thank you all for feedback!

Ok so I installed SketchUp Free Version and tested it for Portability and yeah it works but if this will create registry conflicts then I will have to be more creative & find another way that is not harmful to the system.

I will eventually look into Unity but what lures me into SketchUp is that once I deal with the code side of thing SketchUp can open the possibilities of players making their own level & characters with what I consider to be the easiest 3d software to use. 😉

              Cheers!

                Both editions are copyrighted.

You do not have permission to distribute any Sketchup program itself.

READ the Terms of Use !

You cannot transfer your privilege to run the software to someone else.

Even though I cannot distribute SketchUp there is still a solution out there that will enable a player to run my game in one click, just need to think outside the box.

But yeah thanks Dan Rathbun that is very important info to know.

Is the Google O3D plugin dead ?

I think O3D is now redundant because of webGL. Maybe webGL* is really the best choice. There are some readily available 3d viewers and engines, one only needs to decide for one and find one with a good API.
(Oh, when I think of good API we come back to SketchUp*.)

Actually a EuroZone court found that you can transfer your license. But that was a paid license not a free one. And would most likely only be applicable in that jurisdiction. But alas Russia and some other places don't care what kind of copyright law you write. They do as they please.

And I never had any issues with registry keys. Although I run CC cleaner on my registry every few months just to keep it tidy.
