      Hello community,

I am a high school student working on a new project where I need to automate the matching of photos to objects on SketchUp using the Ruby API. I was wondering whether there is a certain plugin or function call I need to use to do this. I am relatively new to SketchUP and ruby all together. If you can please post an example code and pictures so I can easily understand.

My axes for the match photo would be the same as the standard axes. The origin would also be at the same point.

      Thank you and please help.

Unfortunately there Ruby API is lacking control over the PhotoMatch feature in SketchUp.

So the only way to use Match Photo will be to use it manually through SketchUp?

Are the developers going to implement a Match Photo function?

Yes, only manual as things are now.

Nobody knows what the developers are up to. Nothing is revealed before an release.
            But it has been requested.

              Thank you,
One more question. This is not related to this topic much*

I was wondering whether there is a way to create a 3D object (blob) from a 2D image (birds-eye view).
There are small blebs or blobs on my 2D image that I wish to create into a 3D model so I can make it more realistic. The 3D blobs do not have to be exact but I want to have something representing them. If this is possible (to get 2D bleb(birds eye view) into a 3d model) I was also wondering if this could be done by programming in ruby using some function in the SketchUp API.

              Thank you

Got an image or screenshot of what you try to do? I don't think I fully understand.

The link above has a picture of a chip with a defect.
The defect is the abnormal object between the two elevated features.
Do you have any idea how I can make that into a 3D object?
