      Waterwheel2.png

I needed some practice so I doodled this waterwheel a few minutes ago. It needs better material but I don't really care. Maybe a garden gnome and a fat little donkey with a cart. πŸ˜„

          Thanks, Paul.

I drew a simple seamless background and did a simple clay render in Kerkythea. You can see the seamless in this image.
          waterwheel overview.png

So I made the clay render, thus:
          Waterwheel render.png

Using the same viewpoint (it's handy to create a scene for this) I made a faces only export. This one has Use sun for shading enabled and I removed the seamless background.
          Waterwheel faces.png

And then I made a lines export in Hidden Line face style. This one is exported at 4000px wide and resized down to the same size as the other twoimages so the lines would be very thin.

These images were then combined in Paint.NET. It sounds difficult but it is really quite easy and quick to do.

Awesome doodle. Are you going to model the gnome in SketchUp, too?

                Thanks, David.

I don't know about the gnome. I expect I could find one on the 3D Warehouse or I could get Boofredlay to draw one. πŸ˜‰

                  Nice modelling!!
This one fits well. Though not a donkey cart, but a gnome cart...

Cotty, I just don't want to get out of practice drawing. πŸ˜‰ Some day I'll figure this out.
