SyFail strikes again.....Can't they cancel only bad shows? Or can they go entirely online and into the new millenium with the rest of us?
Anyway, saw the webisodes a few days ago. The quality is pretty good and story is interesting. The only thing I found weird is the apparent lack of technological evolution between this and BSG which is about 30-40 years in the future. I know Galactica was old but she couldn't have carried mostly outdated craft.

Well in fairness Fox was the dick-wads that cancelled Firefly...bastards! Syfy just never had the backers to invest in another BSG, too bad, I blame Caprica for poisoning the brand.
I will check these out on Netflix soon, looking forward.

Oh yeah Fox...nitwits. It just goes to show big studios/corporations don't really care/understand what people want for entertainment.
-
It's down to viewers really, they know that battlestar is for the more mature audience and not something the entire family can watch, we my like battlestar but the ratings were never up to a standard for syfy to continue a future episode after the flop caprica was, but at least it's available now on the web but I fear after the pilot we are going to be left with a cliffhanger and knowing that that's the end of that, as it was cancelled

Never got the hang of BG, though a big SF fan. But these were good. I like the graphic novel feel of some shots. Still, I can't make sense of the shaky camera work and coed showers (while everything else is culturally 20th century USA)--but that's SF for you.

I agree, I tried to watch Caprica but 15 minutes was all I could do

That's not a good argument in today's world, maybe last century.
Uhm.....They have at their dispoasal the whole internet with a guaranteed worldwide viewership for anything they care to air. They only need to make a system that is easy to use, paid or free with ads (like on TV). I really don't understand why they are still sticking to the ratings from a single country when all the world has seen these shows. If they don't make them available in a way that benefits them, then they will only lose money. -
Thanks, iichiversii, for the heads up. Am a big fan of the series. This looks good; can't wait 'til the rest of it airs.

I read a lot about this series in the past yr and finally they released a trailer, how disappointing, the trailer doesn't do the idea any justice, how can syfy pick this over blood and chrome, how long before this show becomes another victim to syfy failure

Caprica was a huge side step. Idea was interesting, but execution as a teen drama - a failure to GSG brand.
-
But, I missed the best smiling face of the 04-09 four seasons series. Among other characters.

Thanks,
You're better than NetFlix!I like this shot:
Fire extinguishers look EXACTLY the same in the future as they do now.
