I'm trying to help a friend find an extremely high detailed model of a 747-400. He's got a chunk of money to buy it but I didn't see anything on the usual sites. It needs to have all of the flaps, landing gear, and preferably interior modeled.

Anyone have a good resource for something like that?

The models that are used in Microsoft Flight Simulator (latest few versions,) are model with Autodesk's Free GMax (I think, ... or whatever it's name is.)

Anyway you might be able to convert one into skp.

http://www.flightsim.com is the place to get MSFS airplane models, scenery, sounds, etc.

        I'm not here much anymore.

Probably need to look a bit more but it didn't look promising. The impression I get is that anything would be very low poly.

There is a certain 747 in MS Flight I think it's called the PDM 747 and it's a full tilt simulator. hour to warm up the plane and 50 switches that have to be set in order. It's fricking awesome.

you might shoot them an email and ask about using their model. I think they're eon to the 777 now so it's old to them and if you gave them credit they might just do it. you never know.

You might be better commissioning somebody to build it for you, somebody round here may be of help. Even to take one of the free low poly models floating about the internet and upgrading it a few levels.

Did you ever find anybody to build the model? I may have some free time coming up in 1-2 weeks?
