SketchUcation Member's NETWORK?
-
I think its a great idea.
-
I am member of sort of hospitality service called "couchsurfing" that has been based on an experience from a famous story of common Christmas of ww, that soldiers from opposite fronts, celebrate the Holiday with each other , and after the ww, they continue thier relationship via mail ,.... that finally exchanges to more contemporary style, web-based, hospitality service.
I have had found some nice friends, there, and it helps a lot to me to improve my vision to world and make me more wise each time that visit a friend and chit-chat...
also I was planning to have a journey to Europe , next spring , and meet SCF friends,.... now ,while seeing this post , few days ago, thought , maybe we could combine this both ideas,....
I believe that visiting new people, as a wisdom/information exchange way, will always ,improve people and it trends to more friendship and peace, kz it removes our "glasses" that propaganda has "wired" into our minds. -

Majid, I think you might be talking about this,
Christmas truce - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_truceIt could happen again: World War I Christmas Truce
http://youtu.be/fCQpNPGq_mU
narrated by Johnny CashIt was a nice true story. I also understood that the soldiers played football in the mud and refused to fight each other afterwards. They were moved elsewhere to fight by their armies.
The 'Powers than be' don't like this sort of thing as it takes control from them. The World these days is becoming a much smaller more friendly place with social Networking, a powerful communication means for the ordinary man and woman. We have to protect and jealously guard the Net and not allow it to be controlled by those that wish to do so for their own ends.

yes that is it dear Mike....
I think if people see the truth, and not what see via "TV" etc as the truth, then darkness of our minds will disappear. and this is what "big brothers" don't want. so I agree with this sort of positive social networks that will improve all of us.
SCF itself has been a friendly informative place for me to learn and improve my skills in my beloved Sketchup! -
Really good idea. I would suggest to have two avatars.
'Artistic/For Fun' and 'Professional'. Up to you which is which -
This is a pretty great idea. Good to put a face to a name and easy to be able to reach out to people when you what their strengths are.
-
.... I'm working on it We probably will get something going prior to launching New SketchUcation as I see there is quite a bit of interest in this.

Not to go off topic but it would be good to have a name to face section for those attending basecamp. I hardly know what anybody looks like but then I am sure we can make that into some sort of drinking game in the pub!

Start a new thread Liam and see what happens

Right guys, I've talked this through with Csaba and we have a plan in mind. The first thing to do is get a list started. Please chech out this thread for details,

Some specific interests I may suggest to be added:
- Industrial Design (shape and functionality of systems and objects)
- Kinematics (movement interaction, sketchyphysics for example)
- Mechanical optimization (FEA and other strength deformation tools)
- Fluid dynamics tools (CFD, heat, aero, hydro, wind resistance, etc..)
- Machining (could encompass flat (and non flat) metal, wood, 3d printing,CAM, etc..)
-
Thanks Michael, will update list to include your suggestions
-
Is it possible to include some handy filtering?
**- by city- by country
- by profession/sector
- by interest**
But, I assume that everything is under control.
-
Just collecting for the time being. We will then start figuring out how to categorize.
-
Count me in, Mike
Not been so active lately, but this kind of network sounds great

Thanks Marcus.

I'm in too, Mike. I like this idea.
I'm not as active lately as I have been, but do consider myself a 'serious' member here. -
Hi Mike
I'm in. I may not be commercially active but I see myself as a serious member.
