A royal selection tool
What are the objects completly inside(or touching) this volume selected?
(like the rectangular selection left to right or right to left)If you have a box that is a Box selection 3D
If you have a cylinder that is a Circular selection 3D
if you have a sphere that is a Globe 3D selection
etc...

Are you requesting that someone make selection "boxes" for these various 3d forms? Please explain more, or, perhaps show illustrations?

Like this : of course objects can be anything, points, curves, surfaces, volumes...
So here following the options Box + Cylinder are selected, or just the Cylinder
