Layout crashing when exporting to PDF or image file

HELP,,,, cant seem to save the drawings to any usable format..
Anyone experienced anything similar??? -
I've run into this when trying to create a PDF of a Layout file with over a dozen pages. I've had to break it down into two or more files and export pages one to six to PDF, then seven to twelve, etc... Then join all the PDFs. I've attributed it to needing more memory.
