Follow-Me With Guide Rails

Hi, I need to create a u-channel along a spline which follows a very specific orientation as it goes. This is par for the course in Autodesk but I cannot seem to find a solution for Sketchup. I have looked at 1001 Bit and TIG. Maybe I'm missing something but is there a solution other than these?

Could show us some picture of what you want?

Tried tracing along the path and extracting a continuos pathed line, welding it then using follow me tool with a 'U' profile?
