Facebook admitted reading text messages belonging to smartphone users who downloaded the social-networking app and said that it was accessing the data as part of a trial to launch its own messaging service

I read the article. According to what I read, not just Facebook. According to a spokesperson, it seems that having the app is more important than the privacy policy.

I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

Yes, indeed. Not only facebook. I read another interesting article about a store chain "finding out" who may be pregnant just from the shopping habits and then targeting them.

Good grief I cannot get pregnant (no matter my belly looks like I am...)

Just last night, I was on a forced shopping spree in my favorite supermarket and, in a leisurely moment, decided to look up past the glare of the suspended lighting system. There are all kinds of electronic systems. The refrigerated cases have temperature monitors, and I believe even have proximity sensors that monitor physical presence in the aisles. Their inventory policy is rather lax, because they have a habit of leaving their inventory devices on top of these tall cases. When we get to the self checkout point we use a shopper's id card for "valued customers". You can bet they have a database compiled with everything in there but our shoe sizes. 😆

I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.
