Thank you everyone.
Mike I'm glad it brought you a smile, it almost brought me to tears!
Alvis, the doors still there, poor viewing angle and bad PP caused it to hide.
jo-ke, thank you very much.
Eric, thanks If only I could use the scale tool and Artisan the way you do.
chedda, If Haddon Hall is in Vitruvius Britannicus I would be more than happy to draw her.
rvdruk, I hope Broadleys was of help to you. The image below is the raw render output, the hedges are PNG files as components patched up in PS with the clone stamp tool. If you visit nomer's site http://www.nomeradona.blogspot.com
he has some great tutorials, much better than I can explain.
Lee, I would love to see these old buildings when they were first constructed. I modeled her over 4 days, the main house a little over 2 and all the bits curtains/steps ect over the remaining. + 2 days texturing, renering and PS.John

It is very evident in such a case that the question of the details is asked: What is the "Fine Line" where do you stop ?

Wow John, again you amaze.
I have so many questions, I need either to pick your brains or contract work out to you....
-
Thanks for the tip. Can I ask where I can find the grass texture (with white flowers) you PS-ed in post?
-
Ab Fab, John!
-
This is beautiful, John. Keeping me inspired (through my own enduring slump)!.
-
Thank you all
rudkruk, here's the grass image. I've had to downsize it for the forum, if you need the bigger size PM me.
Peter, we all know that feeling.

[b]Hi John, What a great model well done ,but may i ask how big it came out and was it done using plans . Your a credit to the program John
Regards Phil -
Hello Phil. I used a floor plan and front elevation plus photographs from the internet for reference.
The model is 12.1 MB, Edges 668912, Faces 293883. Although it was a full 360 degree shell, would have been much smaller had I modeled her for a render scene.
thanks John -
Amazing!! Thanks for sharing your results with us, very lovely modeling. I agree with the comment about detailing "just enough," you convey the sense of the building very deftly. I'm amused by all the urns on the baluster, seems enough to make a chess set from them.

How did I miss this? Beautiful work.
-
An oldie but truly classic. Nicely done.
-
Seems a lifetime ago since I produced these, time flies.

Hey, I'm currently writing a story set in a stately home modelled after Chatsworth house, and I'd love it if I could load your model in Sketchup viewer to use as drawing reference. Would you be able to send a download link to mekkatechthc@gmail.com?
