Check out this super high resolution photo of earth from NASA.
The image is over 16MB at 8000x8000 pixels so I won't upload it but here is the link (thumbnail of it below):

Seriously, it's quite amazing that nothing man-made is visible even on that scale...not even LA.

My thoughts exactly. If this were on the dark side however it would be a spiderweb of illumination.

I think there's some coloration at L.A. You can see Lake Mead or is that Havasu. But I guess the water itself is not "man-made".

There are actually something visible, like the long bridge east from New Orleans and also Lake Pontchartrain Causeway next to it... maybe some other long bridges and dams could be seen, if one knows where to look πŸ˜‰ Great image!

The (old) Blue Marble image is the only desktop wallpaper I ever set that isn't from my own work.

It's an incredible image ... Hard to believe something so beautiful has so much BS going on ...

A piece of trivia and an interesting feature: If you locate the Great Salt Lake, you'll notice a line that transits the lake a bit north of midpoint. The water color on both sides is vastly different. That line is a railroad causeway what was build in the late 30's or early '40's IIRC. The causeway hinders the distribution of dissolved minerals in the lake and hence the water on the north side is much more saline. There are several mineral companies that "mine" the upper part of the lake due to it's higher mineral content.

                    Cheers.
