Podium V2 interior
-
Of course it is. Post-processing is an integral part of rendering, as far as I'm concerned. I'll be explaining what I did in the tutorial, including a an easy and efficient way of exporting selection masks from SU.
-
love to see your workflow explained in a tutorial for SU Podium V2 really like the materials you used and how clean it looks.
-
Not perfect by any means, I know (and I should really recalibrate my screen), but the entire process (rendering + postpro) only took ... 53.5 mins.
-
that's a really good render.
also a really bright sunlight. even for tropical country like we live here -
Hence the need for recalibration.
-
Thats really good, Tom! I wish I could get that sort of quality out of Podium.... I always have trouble with lighting, Sun, etc...
-
You did see the last one's Vray, right?
-
Vray version for fun.

Yeah...? But Podiums lighting is what I have trouble with.
-
Huh? How so? It's pretty easy to set up. Are you using V2?
-
Yep, 2.9... I just find the lighting to be very difficult to get right. Whether to use sunlight or physical sky, etc is a nightmare!!

i agree
how could you get that V2 lighting skill tom?? -
There's hardly any skill involved.
What sort of problems are you gents experiencing? In what way is the lighting 'difficult' to 'get right'?

nice rendering but 53 mins. is too much
now in Lumion 2 you can do it less than 53 sec -

Tom, you make v-ray to look bad. Podium looks fantastic, amazing illustration!
-
I don't particulary mind, Mike. I am always curious to hear what people's opinions are on the apps they use. However, I do think Kais is comparing apples to oranges.
Thanks, Stefan. For implying that the last image, which is Vray, looks bad.
Kidding, kidding!

Mr. Mickey
You are not interested in time -
53secs is good but in terms of realism I think both vRay and Podium cannot be compared to Lumion.

You are not interested in timeNo Kais, I'm not interested in time in this case. I am only interested in learning more about how Tom achieves these Podium renders as other are.
BTW, the name is Mike
