Sketchyphysics problem with the type of joints and grouping
-
Hello,
I'm a 16 year old boy from Belgium who draws pretty much with sketchup.
Last time, i started to learn sketchyphysics. I did one project good with SP, a snowplow for in the front of a 45hp tractor.
Now I'm doing a new project and i have a problem with the type of joints and grouping.
If you open the file you will see a green axle, this is static, around this axle the yellow arms need to rotate.
The motor is at the right place and everithing works "well"
Only the Yellow arm need to rotate around the green axle and not loosening.
The red cilinder could rotate around his axis and should go up and down (blue axis), this is due to the yellow arms.
other explanation: because the motor rotates (red cilinder) he also rotates the brown arm and this push to the yellow arms en the the whole platform go's up.I hope somebody could help me
If you not understand the mechanism, tomorow evening after school I will try to give the explanation on a different way.Sorry for my bad English
thanks
Dieter

I did some modifications on the model.
The green cilinders are the bearings where the red axle can rotate in.
The bearings are mounted on a sliding system.
So, the motor or servo does rotating the platform and the platform push himself up because the motor is working. Here you have the new model, the piston needs to become a slider 'I think'

Nice work though I'm not sure it is quite there. If your intent is for the platform to rotate about a fixed axis you have a problem in that the distance from the top fixed rotation point on the linkages must vary as the device rotates. If you intent is for the platform to both rotate and go up and down you probably need a slider (or piston) on each side. I'll try and take a stab at this this weekend. Keep plugging away.
